Cliff Baldwin's work traverses up one side of the alphabet and down the other making uproarious juxtapositions and surreptitious analogies. In this body of work he uses text to transform the myopic malevolence of drone bombers into peace and love. In his sincere words,
"The use of military hard ware for the purpose of spreading good messages is a primary concern in this group of prints. Using Predator unmanned drones or UAV's as the carrier, I have sent words of warmth and affection that can circle the globe 24/7. It is my hope that aircraft of this type could be used for such missions sometime in the near future.

Jeff Badger has always made dense, hyper, and humorous work. Recently retiring his bold color palette, favoring the focused monochrome of pen and ink, he has delved into new subject matter. He takes on the anxieties of relationships, existential malaise, and modern living by asking a simple, can-of-worms-type question. He begins with "visual techniques normally associated with information design - charts, graphs, Venn diagrams, etc. – in an attempt to elucidate information about less clear sets of data related to emotions, memory, history, and the artistic process." Adding that, "my hope is that by charting thought patterns in this manner we will be able to look at our own actions humorously from afar."

"Language ought to be the joint creation of poets and manual workers."

Adriane Herman is the queen of collecting and enshrining the shreds of linguistic evidence that we shake off daily. Lists convey hopes, goals, failures, successes, punishments, and declarations that, painstakingly translated into prints, convey the universal experiences that connect us all, in humor and tragedy.

"Language is a process of free creation; its laws and principles are fixed, but the manner in which the principles of generation are used is free and infinitely varied. Even the interpretation and use of words involves a process of free creation."
-George Orwell

Megan O'Connell, Imprimatur

Megan O'Connell concocts texts and visual documents for a feast of evocative and serpentine pondering. She gives us morsels and mouthfuls to chew on and enjoy, ultimately helping us to digest and metabolize our language.
"We have come to expect certain conventions when encountering textual and visual information, yet here create opportunities to inquire “and what is language?” We want to know what’s missing, and what’s missing makes us want to know." from Dead Skin Press
