ARTIST STATEMENT
My drawings are pictorial fiction. Each one is a piece from a larger, somewhat fragmented and nonlinear but ongoing narrative that includes both visual diaries from the perspectives of different characters and a third person view of those same people and the landscapes they live in. I try to create a kind of pseudorealism for this narrative by mimicking qualities of snapshot-documentary photographs and combining those elements with what one might call a comic art style, which, I hope, suggests to viewers the fictitious nature of the work.
