Henry Wolyniec: Artist Statement

With the ability of collage to create meaning from its own structural elements it disrupts the relationship between objects and external reality. My pictures are visually abstract but their roots lie in a tactile pictorial space. With rhythms, textures, transparencies and imagery buried and disclosed a complexity and subtlety emerges that moves the content far beyond its initial associations. This creates a vigorous internal balance that captures both inner fantasy and external space. (see henrywolyniec.com)
